The Indie Showcase winners for the upcoming PAX Australia 2014 has been revealed and boy there some great titles in there. The winners have been picked from a massive pool of 100 submissions. Here’s what you’ll see at this year’s show:

Airscape: The Fall of Gravity

Developed by Cross-Product is this ‘cute’ action-platform title about an octopus lost in some strange world. The game is planned for release on Windows, MAC and Linux this Summer 2014.

You can check out the first few levels of Airscape on their site here.

Assault Android Cactus

This crazy twin-stick shooter was first introduced to me at the previous PAX Australia part of the Horize computer booth. It was non-stop fun and made me purchased the game on Early Access afterwards. It’s great to see the team be a part of this year’s PAX Australia again but part of the Indie Showcase.

You can buy the game on Early Access Steam here – a demo of the game is also available.

Expand

Expand is a minimalistic puzzle game where the players must avoid getting their block squashed within the moving labyrinth levels. Quite an interesting title with it’s mesmerizing levels and soundtrack. Definitely something you should keen an eye on. Watch the gameplay here.

Gunscape

Gunscape looks like any ordinary FPS up-front but what makes it different is the ability to create your own gameplay. Yes, Gunscape is a FPS construction system. You make the levels, you create the weapons and guns – you can even put a bloody T-Rex into the game.

If you suck at coding or just lazy like me, Gunscape allows you to create the FPS experience you want. You can check out their site here.

Screencheat

This has to be the most clever idea for a game ever. Screencheat is a split-screen multi-player FPS where everyone is basically invisible and the only way to take out the opponents is by… well… SCREENCHEATING! If you’re one of those bastards that screencheat while playing Goldeneye 64 or Perfect Dark, this is the game for you.

Screencheat is available now on Steam. Buy it here.

Wave Wave

After watching the trailer for this iOS and Android game, the gameplay nearly gave me a haemorrhage. The player must shift up and down to avoid triangles of death while the whole stage flashes, turns, morphs … shoot me. (I’m going to buy this now)

You can pick up the game on Google Play and Apple App store.
