Assassin’s Creed: Chronicles Trilogy Unveiled
One of the most interesting looking Assassin’s Creed titles announced last year, Chronicles: China, is now becoming a trilogy of games to be released over the course of 2015.
The series will follow assassin Shao Jun through 1586 China in part one, then change protagonists to look at Another two assassins. These assassins, Arbaaz Mir in 1841 India and Nikolai Orevlov in 1918 Russia, may be familiar to some fans having been introduced to the universe previously through the Assassin’s Creed comic series The Fall, The Chain and Brahman.
The games are developed by Climax, a British studio, and take the form of 2.5D platformers. More striking than the change of perspective for the franchise is the art style that these games have adopted, with our brief look at the games showing a beautiful watercolour and calligraphy style to the historical worlds. Hopefully this new series will be enough to breathe a little fresh air into the franchise before Assassin’s Creed Victory drops later in 2015.
Check out the trailer below, which gives us a good look at the three different assassins.
Chronicles will kick off with China, launching on PC, Xbox One and Playstation 4 on April 21st. If you’ve purchased the season pass for Assassin’s Creed Unity you’ll nab Chronicles: China for free, also available separately for US$10.
