Sony had a strong outing this year, again demonstrating their commitment to new IP, returning series, and indies. Here’s everything that came out of their conference today.

The Last Guardian

Sony started the conference with a bang by re-revealing The Last Guardian, Team ICO’s long awaited and highly anticipated title that fell through the cracks of development hell and is seemingly finally making its way back. The game is being developed by Japan Studio and will be coming out next year. It’s nearly time, people.

Horizon: Zero Dawn

Following on from the colossal announcement of The Last Guardian, Guerrilla Games’ new IP was announced and the leaked concept art was fairly spot on. Hunting dino-bots in a dystopian future never looked so good. All of the news and some gameplay here.

Hitman

While we were expecting this to come out of Square Enix’s E3 Press Conference tonight, it makes sense for Hitman to be revealed here to make way for something of a larger reveal at Square Enix’s conference – perhaps gameplay? The game’s beta will be coming to PlayStation first. All of the other details on the latest Hitman and a trailer right here.

StreetFighterV_2

Street Fighter V

More Street Fighter V was shown off, with Birdie and Cammy both being announced in the new trailer. The PlayStation-exclusive beta will be out on July 23rd for those that have pre-ordered the game. Check out the trailer here.

No Man’s Sky

The vast world of No Man’s Sky was further shown off at Sony’s conference today and I finally noticed that the game will be coming first to PlayStation 4 before heading to Xbox. It’s been a lingering question in my mind for a while, but there you go. Here’s the gameplay.

Dreams

Media Molecule’s new project was finally announced and it looks as exciting and creative as I’d expected it to be. Media Molecule always approach games in unique ways, and their latest IP Dreams is the perfect example of that. There’s no release date scheduled for Dreams as of yet, but here’s the trailer.

Firewatch

Firewatch will be making its console debut on PlayStation 4, the team over at Campo Santo announced. All of the rest of the news, plus a new gameplay trailer, can be found here.

Destiny

Destiny’s next expansion, The Taken King, which leaked only a few weeks ago was officially announced today. As is with Destiny and PlayStation, the next expansion will include a PlayStation-exclusive multiplayer map and player gear. The Taken King launches on the 15th of September.

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate

While we got to see quite a bit of Jacob in Ubisoft’s Press Conference, Sony’s showing of Assassin’s Creed Syndicate focused on all things Evie, which was really cool. You can check out the trailer for the game here.

World of Final Fantasy

A new Final Fantasy game has been announced, and it’s quite different from the rest. Adopting a much more cute, artistic style as compared to others in the series, World of Final Fantasy looks to appeal to all kinds of gamers. The game will be out exclusively on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita next year.

FFVII

Final Fantasy VII Remake

After the gaming community all got trolled last year at PlayStation Experience as Final Fantasy VII was announced for PS4 as a PC port, the community collectively soared into approval today as it was announced that Final Fantasy VII will be getting the proper HD remaster treatment. It’ll be available on PlayStation 4 first.

Four New Devolver Digital Games Coming to PS4

Devolver Digital got a nice little montage during the conference, as it was announced that Ronin, Eitr, Mother Russia Bleeds, and Crossing Souls will be coming to PlayStation 4 later this year.

Shenmue 3

Well, it’s finally coming (hopefully). Shenmue 3 was officially announced as a Kickstarter project during Sony’s E3 conference and while they don’t have a specific part to play in the development of the game, they just wanted to give the game the publicity it deserves. You can check out (and contribute) to the Kickstarter here.

ArkhamKnight_1

Batman: Arkham Knight

A new trailer was shown off for Batman: Arkham Knight, which is coming out next week. You can check that out here.

Project Morpheus

I was really surprised with the lack of Morpheus talk at the E3 conference, but Guerrilla Games Cambridge’s new game was announced and it’s a Morpheus exclusive. You can check that out here, it’s called RIGS.

PS Vue

This isn’t really helpful for us Australians, but a select few states in the United States will now be able to access PlayStation Vue, including Los Angeles, and access their large catalogue of titles. It was also announced that you can now subscribe to singular channels instead of having to buy a bundled package and you’ll get discounts if you’re a PlayStation Plus member.

BlackOps-3

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3

Well, it’s confirmed. From now on, all of the latest Call of Duty DLC will be coming to PlayStation first, and the worldwide reveal of Black Ops 3 also coincided with this announcement at the Sony presser. All of the info on that here.

Disney Infinity 3.0

For those that love figurines, pre-ordering the PlayStation-exclusive Star Wars Saga Starter Pack for Disney Infinity 3.0 will garner you a Boba Fett Infinity character to use in the game. Boba Fett is exclusive to PlayStation and won’t be usable on other platforms, as far as I can tell. PlayStation platforms will also get the Star Wars Rise Against The Empire Play Set around a month before it hits retail on other platforms.

Star Wars Battlefront

More was shown on Star Wars Battlefront during the conference, you can check that out here.

Uncharted4_3

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

Uncharted 4 was the game to round off Sony’s conference this year, and Drake decided to finally grab his license as the gameplay trailer was all about driving. No release date was announced but the game is still set for a Spring 2016 release in the U.S. and Autumn 2016 in Australia.
