Today is a sad day for those with a pre-order of Batman: Arkham Knight’s Batmobile Edition, as Warner Bros. earlier this morning issued a global cancellation of the edition due to “unforeseen circumstances that greatly compromised the quality of the Batmobile.”

Those with a pre-order of the product across Australia at EB Games have been sent an email letting them know the circumstance they’ve now found themselves in less than a week from launch, and that they can shift their pre-order over to the EB Exclusive Steelbook Edition or the Standard Edition and get refunded the remaining balance or be refunded the entire balance. Those who transfer will be entitled to a free skin pack that features three skins from DC Comic’s New 52 series, and if they shift over to the Steelbook Edition it will cost $87 instead of the original RRP of $109.95, as a small way of saying sorry.

It seems as though the Limited Edition of Batman: Arkham Knight, which includes a statue of The Dark Knight, will still be coming but as far as I can see it’s sold out across all platforms.

Batman: Arkham Knight launches on the 24th of June in Australia, and will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
