Microsoft announced a new service akin to Steam’s early access program during their E3 press briefing, called Xbox Game Preview. This service will be available later today and aims to allow gamers to pay to access games in development in the hopes that these testers will help shape and grow the game up to its launch.

The Long Dark and Elite Dangerous will be available to download when the service launches, and Microsoft are offering a free trial on every title in the range in order for players to make an educated decision as to whether they would like to purchase the early access version.

More games are coming in the future, including Day Z, while creator Dean Hall revealed a new title for Xbox Game Preview he’s currently working on called Ion. You can check out the first look above.
