Star Wars The Force Awakens Breaks Australian Pre-Sale Ticket Records
In totally expected fashion, Star Wars The Force Awakens is breaking ticket pre-sale records worldwide. Aside from crashing many a cinema’s website, Disney has announced that in Australia the movie has received over $1 Million in the first four hours of pre-sale.
Midnight screenings all over the country are sold out or almost sold out, with some cinemas adding extra sessions just to satisfy the overwhelming demand for tickets, especially in the wake of the new trailer’s release.
“Judging by the unprecedented ticket pre-sale numbers for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, it’s clear that The Force is strong in Australia,” said Catherine Powell, Managing Director, The Walt Disney Company Australia and New Zealand. “Whilst we expected significant interest from the many passionate Star Wars fans in this country, we are delighted with the overwhelming response from Australians who want to experience the next chapter of this epic story during opening weekend and beyond.”
Star Wars The Force Awaken opens in cinemas across Australia on December 17. You can snap up tickets of your own at your local cinema or movietimes.
