It’s no secret Australia is lacking behind with internet compared to the rest of the world but this hasn’t stopped Twitch, a global live-streaming website to grow it’s user base in the region.

During the Twitch Town Hall conference at PAX Australia 2015, Marcus ‘djWHEAT’ Graham – Director of Programming announced a new datacentre based in Sydney, Australia is launching this month in November. After installing an ingest server 9 months ago, Twitch has been gradually working and testing the capabilities of this region.

This is great news for viewers and will dramatically increase the quality of service from streams. The company has also stated they will be working with ISPs in the region and with the local community to improve the support in Australia/ New Zealand.
