Good Game’s Michael Hing joins Riot as new host for the Oceanic Pro League
Riot Games has announced that Michael ‘Hingers’ Hing, former host of Good Game’s Well Played (GGWP) esports segment has joined the company as the host of the League of Legends Oceanic Pro League (OPL).
Appearing on his first show last night, Hingers will be hosting OPL Weekly, the upcoming OPL Grand Final at the Courier-Mail Piazza in Brisbane and the International Wild Card Qualifiers (IWCQ).
“We are pumped that Hingers has joined the OPL casting team. His witty and comedic talent will bring another dimension to the OPL broadcast and continue to elevate the standard of esports broadcasting in Oceania. With his stand-up background, he is going to be an entertaining host for what is shaping up to be an epic live OPL Grand Final,” said Daniel Ringland, Head of esports at Riot Games Oceania.
“After an amazing year with Good Game, I was looking for a new challenge to work closer with the local esports scene. I’ve been a massive fan of Riot’s esports broadcasts and watched their League of Legends coverage for years. They’re by far the best in Oceania and I’m excited to be involved with the best in the biz. Also, they buy us lunch on Mondays, which is very, very exciting for me,” said Hingers.
You can catch Hingers on the final two OPL rounds and Semi Finals on Monday and Tuesday over the next three weeks, from 6PM AEST on Twitch.
