Athletico Brotherhood heads to China to represent Australia for CSGO
One of Australia’s leading Counter-Strike: Global Offensive teams, Athletico Brotherhood will be competing in China from tomorrow after defeating AVANT Garde and Legacy Esports in the Australian qualifiers for the StarLadder i-League StarSeries Season.
The winner in the China Qualifiers which runs from 4th to the 7th of August in Shanghai will head to the Global Finals, where teams from Europe and North America will join them to fight for a prize pool of $300,000, from the 7th to the 11th of September in Nanjing.
Founded by Peter “Peetyg” Souvlis in 2005, the team is led by Stuart ‘Sonic’ Rayner along with Jesse ‘InfrequeNt’ Barker, Jay ‘liazz’ Tregillgas, Connor ‘Chuch’ Morgan, and Travis ‘Wizard’ Richardson.
“With numerous achievements under our name, including winning the ESL ANZ Championships and winning the StarLadder i-League StarSeries Australian Qualifiers, we have no intentions of slowing down” said Matthew ‘Sheep Woolley, Founding Director of Athletico Brotherhood. “We are ready to hit the international scene and we have no doubt that we can make a significant impact.”
“We know it won’t be easy coming up against quality opponents in our first international event, but the goals of the team are to make sure we play our game and that we grow as a team and as individuals” said Stuart ‘Sonic’ Rayner, Captain of Athletico Brotherhood’s CS:GO Team. “We’re all excited to be able to play CS:GO against some of the top teams from the Asian region and to measure our own ability against them.”
