Sydney will play host to it’s first World of Tanks eSports Tournament

Wargaming has announced that the World of Tanks WGL APAC Season I Finals will take place at the ESL Studios in Sydney, Australia making it the first time the event is being held in this city.

The best teams will battle it out on on Saturday October 22 for a prize pool of $100K USD prize pool. The event is structured the same as previous finals with single elimination rounds. 1st place takes $50,000; 2nd, $25,000; 3rd and 4th, $12,500 each.

“Hosting the APAC Season Finals in Sydney is an awesome way to deliver a true eSports spectacle in a new way for fans,” said Jini Jun, Head of Competitive Gaming at Wargaming APAC. Australia is a beautiful country, and we’re showing that we have a real dedication to eSports in the region. We’re sure it’s going to be a lot of fun.”

If you’re not based in Sydney, the action will be streamed on Twitch. Wargaming will announce the competing teams at a later date.
