Riot announces League of Legends: League of Origin

It's like State of Origin but with Victorians and Kiwis

Riot Games Oceania has announced League of Legends: League of Origin, a battle between Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and New Zealand.

A team will be formed from each region to clash and claim their spot on the throne of Oceania. Each region will be piloted by an affiliated caster who then pick the coach and field a team. Players will be picked from the Oceanic Pro League (OPL) and Oceanic Challenger Series (OCS).

The casters representing each region:

  • Queensland: Zack ‘Rusty’ Pye
  • New South Wales: Matthew ‘Fish’ Stewart
  • Victoria: Jake ‘Spawn’ Tiberi
  • New Zealand: Cameron “Crunch” Russell

League of Legends: League of Origin will be played live at the ESL Studios in Sydney, NSW on June 3 & 4, 2017. Tickets to the event will be announced in the near future if you’re looking to attend. More information can be found on the Riot Oceanic website here.
