CWL returns to Australia with Sydney Open 1 kicking off tomorrow

The best teams from around APAC fight for the $30K prize pool and pro points

The first LAN event for Call of Duty kicks off tomorrow as the best teams from around the APAC region battle it out for a share of the $30K prize pool and the precious CWL Pro Points.

Presented by PlayStation, teams such as regional 2016 champions MindFreak, rivals Tainted Minds and the Chiefs eSports Club will travel to ESL Studios in Sydney, Australia to continue their 2017 CWL campaign. Two Asian teams have also made their way down to Sydney: UnVeil NoVa from Singapore (2017 Call of Duty Asia Championship Winners) and Rampage from Malaysia. While our local teams have competed against the Asian teams online, we can’t wait to see how the teams go at LAN.

Josh ‘Inmaniac’ Inman, Host and Commentator for ESL Australia has also revealed a total of 31 teams attending CWL Sydney Open 1 making it the largest Call of Duty LAN ever held in APAC.

CWL Sydney Open 1 will be the first APAC LAN event for 2017 season. Teams who missed out will have a 2nd chance in May (12-14) to competed for Pro Points in the CWL Sydney Open 2. For those who can’t attend to spectate, the event will be live-streamed through MLG TV here.
