PUBG: First-Person Mode & New Player Customisation

With clothing inspired by the Japanese Battle Royale movies

The developers at Bluehole have detailed some new additions coming to Player Unknown’s Battleground (PUBG) including the long-awaited First Person Only servers.

In the next major monthly update, the team will be adding the first-person only option to NA and EU SOLO & DUO game modes only. An FOV slider for the first-person mode will also be added so players can customise the new option.Bluehole has also mentioned an introduction of a new rifle to the game. Due to a client crash bug last week, the major monthly update will be moved to August 3rd.

Also announced in the update was more character customization plans. While the team has stated they won’t be introducing a full system until the game is out of early access – they’ll be launching three brand new crates inspired by the Japanese Battle Royale movie. Two of the crates will be free to open: Wanderer and Survivor Crates and the third crate – named the Gamescom Invitational Crate will require a key to be purchased. It will be the most diverse pool of themed clothing between the three with proceeds going into supporting the invitational and selection of charities. The keys will cost $2.50 each.

The Gamescom Invitational Crates will only last till August 27th and will be removed from the game. For more information on the update, check out the announcement. You can check out the new vanity items you can get from the crates below:
