Activision has released the first set of competitive guidelines for the upcoming Call of Duty: WWII. The Call of Duty World League (CWL). The CWL esports team has worked closely with Sledgehammer Games, current and retired professionals to ensure the rules are accessible, entertaining and competitive.

They have also mentioned that these guidelines are not final and will release version one prior to the December 8th CWL Dallas Open event.

Turrets has been marked as restricted and will not be allowed to kill another player. Turrets are positions around the map and they have mentioned the team is working on allowing an option to disable them. Another item restricted are incendiary shells which has been a question mark during beta for competitive play and ultimately has been banned.

Map vetoes is also returning to CWL 2018 which allow teams to pick and ban particular maps on LAN. Map vetoes won’t be a feature in online matches and tournaments however. Map vetoes were used during the 2014 Call of Duty: Ghosts.

While these are just guidelines and not the final 1.0 rules, it allows teams and players to start practising competitive play when the game drops today.
