Sydney FC has announced the signing of Mark Brijeski, known as xMarkoHD, as their first of two signings for the Hyundai A-League’s upcoming E-League competition.

Brijeski is currently ranked 23rd in the world, with a first place ranking in the Rest of the World region.

“Obviously everyone knows Sydney FC as the biggest club in the A-League and now I want to make them the biggest in esports,” Brijeski said, upon being unveiled as the team’s first pick.

“Like any member of Sydney FC my aim is to win trophies and I believe I can achieve that here.”

Brijeski’s platform of choice is PlayStation 4, meaning Sydney FC still have to appoint a competitor in the Xbox division, which will occur in the following days following a league draft.

So far, Sydney FC and Melbourne City are the only teams to have announced their first competitors, with Mark Brijeski and Marcus Gomes picked respectively.

The E-League is set to kick off on the 1st of February, and will coincide with the final nine rounds of A-League competition. Each club will face off against each other once, with a tournament-styled Finals Series to be held thereafter to crown a winner.
