LetsPlayLive has announced a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CSGO) invitational tournament with a $10,000 NZD prize pool. Called the 2018 Alpha Invitational, the event will see three of Oceania’s top professional CS:GO teams compete against teams from the open qualifiers. The three CS:GO teams invited and confirmed are ORDER, Tainted Minds and Grayhounds Gaming.

The Alpha Tournament will feature 7 weeks of live broadcast where six teams compete in round-robin matches followed by a finals series. The round robin matches will be a best-of-one double elimination setup with the finals a best-of-three. LPL has also detailed that the prize pool will be spread among the top three teams after the season – $5,000 for first, $3,000 for second and $2,000 for third.

Registration for the qualifiers are now open with the qualifier tournament taking place on Saturday 10th February 2018. Three teams who place on top of the qualifying round will join the three pro teams in the series.
