2K and Gearbox Software have announced that the rumours were true – Borderlands is coming to PS4 and Xbox One. Borderlands: The Handsome Collection will be reigning down on current-gen consoles in March, and will include Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel as well as all of the DLC that’s available for both games.

The game will also support cross-saves, allowing players to transfer save files across from PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360. There’s a slight catch though – you can only transfer saves from the same family of consoles. For example, PlayStation 3 save files will only transfer over to the PlayStation 4 version of the game and likewise for the Xbox side of things.

The Handsome Collection will also bring in an enhanced multiplayer split-screen option, allowing four players to dive into the madness of Borderlands on a single television. Lastly, there’s also an extremely limited collector’s edition too (5000 in the world kind-of limited), but there’s been no mention of if it will come to Australia and if so, how many we’ll be getting. Have a look at what the collector’s edition includes though!

Update: We have received an email from 2K Australia regarding the price of the Handsome Collection. RRP $499.95 AUD.

Borderlands: The Handsome Collection will be unleashing its madness on PS4 and Xbox One on the 27th of March.
