Three rounds are already done and dusted! We’re quickly approaching the mid-point of the inaugural E-League FIFA competition and last week’s results have pushed some teams well out in front of the pack.

Here’re the current standings, as well as my predictions for each of the matches being played this week:

Sydney FC vs Wellington Phoenix
PlayStation 4: Mark Brijeski (xMarkoHD) vs Christian Bartolillo (Fweshest)
Prediction: 3-1

After a dominant display last week against Jets’ BLFifa, Sydney FC’s xMarkoHD will be looking to continue on with his undefeated streak to claim another win against Wellington’s Fweshest, who also won last week. I expect this one to be a fairly open game with some great passing plays from both players, though in the end I think that undefeated streak of xMarkoHD’s will continue.

Xbox One: Samer Elbadar (Samer96_) vs Justin Josevski (Justmanutd12)
Prediction: 2-0

Sydney FC’s Samer96_ played well last week, and I expect him to also continue on to claim another big result against Wellington’s Justmanutd12, who has been unlucky of late. I expect this one to be a tight contest decided ultimately by some slick counter attacking play, and for Sydney FC to come out winners of the tie overall.

Predicted Result: Sydney FC to win 5-1 on aggregate.

Newcastle Jets vs Melbourne Victory
PlayStation 4: Bohdan Ling (BLFifa) vs Moaud Zwed (MuadZwed)
Prediction: 2-2

Both players have shown promise in the opening rounds of the E-League competition, and I feel like this contest is going to be one of the best of the night. Jets’ BLFifa has a big point to prove after an absolute trouncing last week, and Victory’s MuadZwed will be looking to capitalise on some solid momentum sustained from last week’s results to give his side their first overall win of the comp. When all is said and done, though, I expect this one to end in a draw.

Xbox One: Dane Crow (Bossierhickory8) vs Mitch Austin
Prediction: 2-1

Returning from club duties, Victory’s Mitch Austin will be up for a big match this week. That said, I just can’t see him beating Jets’ Bossierhickory8, who has been rather unlucky in his opening matches of the season. I have a good feeling the latter will get a big goal close to the end of the game and will claim the Jets’ first overall win of the season.

Predicted Result: Newcastle Jets to win 4-3 on aggregate.

Adelaide United vs Perth Glory
PlayStation 4: Zachary May-Burgess (vDreamz-Shooter) vs Peter Saisanas (Saisanas)
Prediction: 3-3

After producing a couple of eye-catching displays in the first two rounds of competition, Perth Glory’s Saisanas was a lot quieter last week when he took on Central Coast Mariners’ KyrenFIFA, ultimately ending the game in a 3-2 defeat. Meanwhile, Adelaide’s vDreamz-Shooter won his match, and I think will be coming in expecting to win. I don’t think either player will win this one, though, and goals will be on the menu — ending in a 3-3 draw.

Xbox One: Jamie O’Doherty (FUTWIZ Jamie) vs David Cook (HighFly357)
Prediction: 3-1

I can’t help but only see one outcome in this match, with Adelaide’s FUTWIZ Jamie the clear favourite against an underperforming HighFly357. The latter has had some tough results the last few weeks, and I’m not expecting to see any big resurgence this week — though, if there were any opponent to do it against, it’d probably be one of the competition’s favourites in FUTWIZ Jamie. With that said, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Adelaide man take the win when the full-time whistle is blown.

Predicted Result: Adelaide United to win 6-4 on aggregate.

Central Coast Mariners vs Western Sydney Wanderers
PlayStation 4: Kiran Gupta (KyrenFIFA) vs Rick Tran (RDOUBLETTT)
Prediction: 2-1

Central Coast’s KyrenFIFA got a good win last week against a tough opponent in Glory’s Saisanas, and he should well and truly be confident going into Round 4. Western Sydney’s RDOUBLETTT had a rough time against Wellington’s Fweshest and unless he turns in a big performance I can’t see him taking the crown from King Gupta. This one should be a great contest, though, and I’m particularly keen to watch how it plays out!

Xbox One: Matthew Camilleri (StrawHat Camels) vs Joseph Nassar (OhNoAGoat)
Prediction: 2-3

Western Sydney Wanderers’ OhNoAGoat showed his clear potential in a great win against Wellington’s Justmanutd12 last week, and I’m excited to see some goals in this week’s contest against Central Coast Mariners’ StrawHat Camels. Both players love to get forward and play on big counter attacks, and I’d be surprised not to see a few goals in this one. I see Goat taking a big win, in the end, though.

Predicted Result: The E-League’s first draw! Points to be shared between both sides.

Brisbane Roar vs Melbourne City
PlayStation 4: Dino Flocco (Ol_Mate_) vs Josh Wood (joshingwood)
Prediction: 2-4

Joshingwood is still a bit of an unknown quantity in the E-League, with his results a bit of a mixed bag so far. It’s hard to really predict how this match will go, but I’m going to back the City man to pull off a big win against Roar’s Ol_Mate_, who would still be disappointed in his loss against Adelaide’s vDreamz-Shooter last week. Like always, expect some great goals to close out the PlayStation 4 bracket of games.

Xbox One: James Williams (iCripsy) vs Marcus Gomes
Prediction: 3-4

This game should well and truly be an absolute cracker, and it was tough to decide on who will take the win after the final ball is (virtually) kicked. I’m hoping for a lot of goals between two of the competition’s best players and a lot of banter to be shared, though on the serious side of things I’m holding out for a big game that showcases just how good these players are. Certainly not expecting a bloodbath on either side, but a close game that is only decided within the final few in-game minutes.

Predicted Result: Melbourne City to win 8-5 on aggregate.

So there are my predicted results for this week’s round of FIFA 18 E-League fixtures! You can catch all of the matches from the new time of 7pm AEDT tonight on Twitch or via Fox Sports’ streaming hub.
