With just two League Play rounds left, things are starting to heat up for the teams involved in Throwdown’s Rocket League OCE Championship. With Chiefs the only side yet to be defeated in a series, teams will know every win counts from here on out, and they’ll want to get as high on the ladder as possible as we enter the next stage of the contest. With that said, here’s everything that’s going down this weekend!

Series 1: Legacy Esports vs JAM Gaming
Prediction: 3-1

JAM Gaming haven’t been in good sorts of late, and they’re coming up against one of the in-form sides in the competition this week in Legacy Esports. I just can’t see this going any other way than a Legacy win — and in convincing fashion. JAM’s Bango, Decka, and Walcott will have to be at their best if they’re going to pull any sort of result out of this one!

Series 2: Legs Are Silly vs JAM Gaming
Prediction: 2-3

Legs Are Silly have been fairly solid in their run in the OCE Championship, though they’re currently sitting at the foot of the ladder. Depending on the result prior, a big win here could set them up well for a push to make it into the top six prior to League Play ending next weekend. That said, I’m expecting JAM to see this as an opportunity to finally grab another win and catapult themselves higher up the ladder. As such, this series should be a close one, and I’m really intrigued to see which way it goes!

Series 3: Legs Are Silly vs Chiefs ESC
Prediction: 0-3

Chiefs have been way too good over the last couple of rounds in the OCE Championship League Play rounds, and unless something drastic happens I can’t see them struggling against Legs Are Silly. A clean sweep certainly isn’t out of the question here.

Series 4: Retirement Home vs Chiefs ESC
Prediction: 1-3

Retirement Home managed to pull out a huge win against Dark Sided last week, though they face a completely different proposition in Chiefs this time around. If the former manage to play half as well as they did last week, I can see them putting up a bit of a fight against Drippay, Torsos, and Jake, but I can’t see them taking the series.

Series 5: Retirement Home vs Love Decks
Prediction: 3-2

Retirement Home and Love Decks both pulled out great results last week, defeating Dark Sided and JAM Gaming respectively, and this contest should be a close one. With both sides eying off spots in the top six (if not higher), their series against each other should shed some light on how the ladder will look come the end of League Play next weekend. I’m predicting Retirement Home to edge it 3-2 in the end, though it should be one of the tighter matches this weekend.

Series 6: Dark Sided vs Tainted Minds
Prediction: 3-2

A big series here pits two top contenders against one another, and both will know a win here will do a world of good in their final positioning on the ladder at the end of the League Play stages next weekend. Much like the series prior, I’m predicting this one to be a tightly contested series, though I have an inkling Dark Sided will take the win 3-2 in the end. This one promises to be a cracker!

So there are my predictions for this weekend’s League Play action! You can catch it all from 11am AEST on Sunday via Throwdown Esports’ Twitch channel.
