With three weeks of League Play left, all the teams involved in this split will know that results are of utmost importance from here on out. Due to the fact these matches will be played on Easter we’ve got a smaller bracket of games than usual — so more time for eating chocolate, no doubt! Here are my predictions for this weekend’s matches, alongside team rosters and current standings.

Series 1: JAM Gaming vs Love Decks
Prediction: 3-1

JAM Gaming will be reeling after a rough League Play last weekend, losing both of their games against Chiefs and Dark Sided in convincing fashion. With that said, Love Decks are yet to win a series and I just can’t see them beating out JAM, who will be looking to improve on their dominant win against Tainted Minds in the first weekend of League Play action. I’m expecting the first few games to be closely fought, with JAM coming out on top in the end.

Series 2: Tainted Minds vs Legs Are Silly
Prediction: 3-0

Legs Are Silly have done well as newcomers in the competition, already nabbing a good win last weekend against Retirement Home. However, much like the matches against Dark Sided and Legacy in the first weekend of League Play, they’re coming up against a very good side in Tainted Minds who will be looking to nab a big win to climb the ladder. A clean sweep isn’t entirely out of the question, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Tainted Minds win convincingly here — it’s becoming a matter of now or never for them.

Series 3: Chiefs ESC vs Legacy Esports
Prediction: 3-2

This match is, without a doubt, the biggest match up of the weekend. Chiefs — who are coming off of two massive back-to-back wins (and clean sweeps, no less) from last weekend’s League Play — will be looking to leapfrog Legacy and go to first on the ladder. The obstacle they face, of course, is a very, very good Legacy Esports side, who have shown over the last two weekends that they are becoming quite a force to be reckoned with. This one is going to be a very tight, cagey contest, but I’ve got an inkling Chiefs will edge it 3-2 in the end.

Series 4: Retirement Home vs Dark Sided
Prediction:  0-3

Retirement Home have been fairly disappointing in this split of the OCE Championship, and it’s sad to see! After a great OCE Open Series in February they’re struggling to match the level of the other sides, and it’s only going to get harder for them this weekend as they take on Dark Sided — one of three sides who are yet to lose a series in League Play so far. If the latter are anywhere near as good as they have been over the first couple of weeks of competition, I can see this one ending in a clean sweep.

So there are my predictions for week 3 of OCE Championship League Play! This round should be a very, very good one, and as a bonus you can feast on some chocolate while watching along!

You can catch all of the action from 11am AEST (goodbye daylight savings!) on Sunday via Throwdown Esports’ Twitch channel.
