Following the expansion of Wargaming into the ANZ region earlier this year, World of Tanks players are scoring local servers on November 1st.

“Tankers can now storm the battlefield, roll in guns blazing and ambush their opponents’ quicker, making team combat more intense, fun and enjoyable,” Said Travis Plane, Wargaming Australia New Zealand Country Manager. “A local server is the number one request from our community and we are finally rolling them out.”

The servers, which have been long requested by the community, should ensure better connection and ping for players during the running hours – 6PM to 12AM AEDT. The plan is to roll this out to full 24/7 servers in 2018 as engagement grows, but these prime time servers look to engage the current player base better and draw lapsed gamers back.

“The World of Tanks PC community is growing year on year, with over 130 million players worldwide. Some of our most passionate tankers are based in Australia and New Zealand and it’s exciting to be finally giving our community what they’ve been asking for,” said Jungwon Hahn, Wargaming Asia-Pacific General Manager.

As a celebration of the servers and the ANZ community, Wargaming will be running player gatherings in Auckland (October 20th), Melbourne (October 26th) and Sydney (November 1st). For more info on the servers and events, head to the World of Tanks hub right here.
