After the public release of the GTX 1080 Founder’s Edition cards Friday last week, ASUS has revealed their GTX 1080 ROG Strix Edition Graphics Card which is overclocked and brand new features.

The GTX 1080 ROG Strix is factory overclocked up to 1898MHz in gaming mode and up to 1936MHz in OC mode which according to ASUS ‘6.5% faster performance in 3DMark Fire Strike Extreme and 7.4% faster gaming performance in Hitman compared to Founders Edition.’

ASUS is also pushing the VR-ready label of the card with its implemented two HDMI ports, one of which is dedicated for VR head mounted displays which ‘possesses more than enough grunt to run VR content.’

The famous DirectCU III cooler is also back with some changes to its design featuring Aura RGB Lighting – great if you want to customise your graphics card even further with the theme of your build.

There’s no local pricing for Australia just yet but we should expect these to land Early June. If you’ve been holding out for a partner version of the GTX 1080, keep an eye out for these. ASUS also promises more information especially to their ROG Strix line-up at Computex 2016.
