After the acquisition of Azubu back in January, Hitbox has announced Smashcast – a brand new platform and brand to take on the live-streaming market against Twitch.
“We’re excited to announce the new company name and brand resulting from the merger of Hitbox and Azubu,” said Smashcast CEO Mike McGarvey.
“Smashcast will launch with a new hype feature for viewer engagement, which represents just the first step in our long-term vision to create the best broadcaster-to-viewer experience in the world of esports and competitive gaming.”
Smashcast has also announced a brand new 4K-ready production studio in Vienna, Austria showcasing their commitment to high-quality broadcasts.
The platform is currently live and free with the iOS and Android app rolled out. You can check it out here.
