Paramount TV and Anonymous Content has picked up the rights to the Battlefield franchise to create a TV series based on the game.
Coming to the small screen, the two companies have appointed 2016 Academy Award winner producer, Michael Sugar (Sportlight) and Ashley Zalta as Executive Producers for the show.
“Battlefield is one of the most loved properties among our players,” said Patrick Söderlund, Executive Vice President, EA. “We are thrilled that Anonymous Content and Paramount TV will look to introduce fans to Battlefield through a new medium.”
The two companies have a first-look production deal for scripted television programming across broadcast, premium cable, cable and online audiences. It will be their first attempt at a TV-series based on a video-game.
This isn’t the first time the Battlefield series has been picked up with FOX putting in a development for Battlefield: Bad Company which never made it to series.
