Revolution Software announced today that their latest game, Broken Sword 5: The Serpent’s Curse, will be making its way to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One later this year.
Digital versions of Broken Sword 5 will be published by Revolution through the PlayStation Network and the Xbox Games Store whereas retail versions of the game, which will include the game’s introduction as a graphic novel, will be distributed throughout Europe and EMEA by Ravenscourt.
Speaking on the game’s transition to the next-gen consoles, Founder & CEO of Revolution Software Charles Cecil said – “we are delighted to bring Broken Sword 5 to PS4 and Xbox One – with enhancements over the other versions including additional animation and audio, a character gallery section and many console-specific enhancements. The Broken Sword games have a proud history on previous PlayStation and Xbox consoles. There is such a loyal following for the Broken Sword games, as demonstrated by the 15,000 fans who backed the original Kickstarter campaign – it’s fantastic to now be able to bring the game to all those console owners who have requested that we write the game for their favorite platform.”
Broken Sword 5: The Serpent’s Curse follows American George Stobbart and French journalist Nico Collard as they find themselves on a trail of a stolen painting and a murderous conspiracy. The game was funded via Kickstarter and achieved its funding goal in just 13 days.
The game will be out in Winter in Australia and Summer in the US.
