Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 has become the first Call of Duty in the long-running series to garner an R18+ rating from the Australian Classification Board.

The game’s been given ticks on high impact violence, strong impact themes, moderate impact language and sex, and mild impact drug use.

The high impact violence is most notable, and it became clear from the Black Ops 3 beta that dismemberment and gore would play a major part in Treyarch’s latest.

Activision are yet to address the rating.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 launches on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC on November 6.
