Over the weekend the League of Legends International Wild Card All-Stars tournament was held in Melbourne at Margaret Court Arena. By the end of the tournament the CIS team managed to come out on top by 10 points despite losing the final 5v5 to Turkey, thanks to the points awarded from midlaner Mykhailo ‘Kira’ Harmash’s victory in the 1v1 tournament.
The CIS team will go on to represent the International Wild Card regions in the LA All-Stars tournament this December, battling it out against teams from North America, Europe, Korea, China and the LMS region.
Unfortunately the local Oceania All-Stars team only managed to win one of their six games, with both Tim ‘Carbon’ Wendel and Aaron ‘ChuChuZ’ Bland losing their 1v1 quarter finals. Regardless of the losses, they were supported loudly by local fans in person, at Hoyts viewing parties and via streams online.
