Supercars or I would like to still call it V8 Supercars (rip) has teamed up with Harvey Norman to create a national esports challenge with Forza Motorsport. The Harvey Norman Supercars Forza Challenge will see players compete online for to clock the best lap time in a virtual Supercar around Mount Panorama.
The top eight players with the best times will secure a trip to this year’s Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000. These players will be paired with drivers like Scott McLaughlin and Chaz Mostert for an All-Stars challenge as well.
Supercars CEO James Warburton has said:
“This e-sports initiative is an exciting opportunity to showcase Supercars and further our fan engagement, representing a significant growth market for our teams and partners,” Warburton said.
“The synergy and popularity of racing games and the sport of Supercars means that a e-Sports Championship in 2018 will become a natural extension of our product offering.
“We are delighted to be partnering with Harvey Norman and Microsoft as well as the stars of our show, the Supercars drivers and their teams.”
