The dates and venue for the SMITE World Championship 2016 have been announced by Hi-Rez Studios, closing out Season 2 of SMITE competition. The Championship will take place at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, Atlanta, USA, from January 7 – 10 2016. Two competitions will be running over the three days – the PC World Championship and the first Xbox One Invitational, tied in with the release of the SMITE open beta on Xbox One earlier this month.

Teams from North America, Europe, Brazil, Latin America, China, and, for the first time Oceania will compete on the world stage for the Championship and a prize pool of $1 Million. The Xbox One Invitational also has quite the prize pool, with teams competing in the developing console esport scene for $150,000.
