The New Yorker has reported that Hideo Kojima, creator of the Metal Gear series has left Konami earlier this month on October 9th.

Kojima’s latest and final title for Konami – Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain racked in impressive reviews from major outlets as well as a 100% score from us. Kojima has a non-compete clause that expires in December, he will be able to find a new studio after this period.
