Riot Games has announced their partnership with EVENT to bring the international League of Legends tournament, Rift Rivals: Pacific Rift to the Sydney State Theatre from July 2-5 2018. This is the very first time Rift Rivals will be hosted in Australia and will feature international players such as Oceania’s Shern “Shernfire” Tai from Dire Wolves, Japan’s Kyohei “Ceros” Yoshida from DetonatioN FocusMe, and SEA’s Nuttapong “G4” Menkasikan from Ascension Gaming representing their region competing for bragging rights.

General Manager of Entertainment from EVENT, Luke Mackey has said: “The EVENT team are passionate about bringing fans together for shared cultural and entertaining experiences. We are delighted to provide the League of Legends community a place to gather and compete on an international stage. This tournament is just the beginning of our esports offering, and we look forward to bringing more gaming events to our cinema and theatre audiences in the future.”

Head of Oceanic Esports at Riot Games said: “Bringing Rift Rivals to this spectacular live venue on home turf would not be possible without EVENT. We know how important live tournaments are for our fans; they bring us together to share in the thrill of watching League of Legends played at the very highest level. The fact it’s Oceania’s three best teams competing is just icing on the cake.”

It’s been a while since our region has been able to attend a League of Legends LAN event with the last major one being the League of Origin. With international talent across the SEA and Japan region attending, this is one tournament you wouldn’t want to miss.

Tickets for the tournament go live on Friday 1st June 2018 via Ticketmaster starting from $49 ($149 Premium) with an extremely limited amount of VIP tickets available (includes playing a game on the Rift Rivals stage plus access to backstage meet and greets with pros and talent).
