Week 7 of the Oceanic Pro League offers some some unique opportunities for redemption and revenge as three players who were dropped or traded mid-split will verse their former team mates.

Sunday’s first match up of the day, Legacy eSports vs Tainted Minds will show a return of Aaron “ChuchuZ” Bland to Legacy eSports after their starting midlaner “Claire” received a two week suspension.

ChuchuZ started this split on Tainted Minds, playing the first four regular split matches but left before week five after housing and contract issues arose leading to four out of the five starters leaving the team.

This Legacy vs Tainted Minds match will give Chuchuz the opportunity to taste some sweet revenge on the Tainted Minds organisation by potentially delivering them their third loss in a row.

The second match up of the day, the Dire Wolves vs Avant creates more opportunities for OPL veterans to grab revenge from their former teams.

The Dire Wolves had stated at the beginning of the year they would be utilising a 6 man team rotating between junglers Sybol and Shernfire. However mid-way through the split, the Dire Wolves announced this strategy had proved ineffective and moved Shernfire to their starting jungler and released Lachlan “Sybol” Civil from their team.

Sybol, who had been a staple on the Dire Wolves roster for multiple OPL seasons was quickly picked up and signed by currently fourth place Avant and will undoubtedly be relishing the opportunity to show the Dire Wolves that they made the incorrect choice in junglers by delivering Avant a victory. As the teams are currently placed 3rd and 4th in the standings, a victory will be crucial as both rosters look towards playoffs and securing the higher seeding in the gauntlet.

Additionally, the first match of the week will put last season’s champions the Chiefs against Sin Gaming. Sin Gaming recently signed a new starting mid laner in Tommy “Ry0ma” Lee who had a noteworthy debut in their week six win against Exile 5.

Ry0ma was previously a Chiefs substitute and will look to prove himself against his previous roster and potentially deliver his new team a victory and show the rest of the OPL teams that he should have been considered for an OPL position since the start of the year.

Chuchuz, Sybol and Ry0ma will all be looking to pick up convincing victories for their new teams. Proving to their old team mates and organisations that they made mistakes in letting them go will be even sweeter with only 4 weeks left of regular split matches and all three teams still in contention for playoffs, making every win crucial.
