Gfinity Australia has announced the third franchise club joining the Gfinity Elite Series Australia, Melbourne’s very own ORDER. The ORDER is the 2nd Melbourne club to join the Elite Series and will take on local rivals Melbourne AVANT and Sydney’s own Chiefs. Gfinity has also announced that the Elite Series will debut Gfinity Australia Arena in Moore Park, Sydney on June 2nd, 2018.
Dominic Remond, Gfinity Esports Australia’s CEO has mentioned:
“Australia has a long history of traditional sporting rivalries, and we’re excited to welcome a second Melbourne team bringing our own flavour of derby to the Gfinity Elite Series Australia. Melbourne Order tackling Melbourne Avant are fixtures of the future – every big city needs healthy competition.”
Jake ‘Spawn’ Tiberi from Melbourne ORDER has also added:
“We’re excited to further cement our presence as part of the Melbourne esports community by becoming a representative of Melbourne in the Gfinity Elite Series Australia. It’s a great opportunity to represent our fans locally with some of the biggest names in Australia, and we look forward to the competition.”
Dominic has also added the importance of adding Melbourne ORDER to the roster:
“It’s a key goal for us that the future of Australian esports is represented through the Gfinity Australia Elite Series. The grassroots community has driven the local industry to where it is today, and we want to support and foster that growth through our city based league.”
The Gfinity Elite Series Australia will feature six city-based clubs and will be broadcasted live from the Gfinity Hoyts Esports Arena in Sydney. With the series kicking off from June 2nd, we can’t wait to see the other three clubs revealed before it begins.
