In a massive development in the esports scene – particularly in the North American region – Major League Gaming has sold off a substantial portion of it’s assets to Activision Blizzard, according to news broken over at Esports Observer.

This move will effectively see the end of the MLG brand for the short term; and hangs some questions over the head of the planned MLG Columbus CSGO Major tournament in April, 2016.

EVP Adam Apicella posted this reply in a tweet in reply to Jason Lake regarding the situation, however this was shortly deleted as (we assume) Mr Apicella is still getting a full run-down of the situation at this hectic time of year.

CEO Sundance Giovanni has also been removed from his role, and former CFO Greg Chisholm will take over for the interim.
