This is well… surprising. Call of Duty: Black Ops III will have modding and mapping tools on PC coming in 2016.

The Treyarch Blog officially announced the news which will be available in alpha stage March 2016. You’ll be able to create your own maps & game modes plus the ability to run unranked dedicated server to support these. The game will also implement a unranked server browser so you can find and join servers featuring modded content.

PC players would have remembered ProMod for Call of Duty 4 (which is awesome) and hopefully we can see the PC community and maybe esports come back on this platform for Call of Duty: Black Ops III.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III hits shelves this Friday 6th November.
