DONTNOD Entertainment and Focus Home Interactive today revealed new details and a concept teaser for their upcoming game Vampyr, an RPG powered by Unreal Engine 4 coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2017.

Vampyr is set in early 20th century Britain as the country is gripped by the lethal Spanish flu and streets of London are crippled by disease, violence, and fear. In a disorganised and ghostly city, those foolish, desperate, or unlucky enough to walk the streets lay prey to Britain’s most elusive predators: the vampires.

Playing as Jonathan E. Reid, a high-ranking military surgeon transformed into a vampire upon his return from the frontline, you’re tasked to explore the streets of early 20th century London and meet with characters with their own identities and importance. In the end, you’ll have to feed and choosing who to kill will ultimately impact the game’s story because those characters will be gone forever.

The game also has dynamic real-time combat, blending hard-hitting melee combat with ranged shooting mechanics and supernatural vampire powers. Additionally, the game will incorporate a deep crafting system that will be centred around finding loot and components from exploration or from the fresh corpses of your victims and using that to craft new weapons, tools, special ammunitions, and coating as well as improving the tools you already have.

Vampyr launches in 2017 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
