NVIDIA has announced their new line of graphics cards – the 10xx series coming out on June 10th, 2016. Faster, power efficient and priced cheaper – NVIDIA is looking to make a leap with their pascal range.
The GeForce GTX 1080 card is supposedly faster than ‘dual GeForce GTX 980 in SLI which is faster than the GTX Titan making it the fastest single-GPU card coming out. During the presentation, NVIDIA showed off DOOM running everything on high on 1080p at 200 frames-per-second. Insane.
Talking about power efficiency, NVIDIA has stated the GTX 1080 features 3x the power efficiency than a Maxwell GPU-based Titan X. It only requires 180W of power on a single 8-pin power connector.
Pricing for the GTX 1080 has also been announced for the NA coming at $599 USD. Local Australian pricing hasn’t been fully confirmed but you should see it hit here for about $900-$1099 AUD which is still cheaper than the GTX 980 Ti ($1199 AUD)
