PC World has reported that NVIDIA are planning to lock their Game Ready Drivers behind GeForce Experience. Usually people are able to download the new drivers separately but in the future, this will change.
If you have downloaded the Battlefront beta, you would have noticed that you were required to update your PC with the latest Game Ready driver – without this, you couldn’t play it. Game Ready drivers are required if you want to play the latest games.
As a NVIDIA user, I don’t mind this because I use GeForce Experience regularly for video capture but for those who don’t want extra software, this could be annoying. GeForce Experience requires an email registration before use and some people don’t like registration or extra software that they don’t use.
NVIDIA will still release drivers separately but at a quarterly update.
