Mad Catz, the peripheral maker responsible for the famous R.A.T gaming mice and a range of quality fight sticks has announced voluntary bankruptcy.
“Mad Catz, Inc., ceased operations and also has filed a voluntary petition for relief under chapter 7 of the United States Bankruptcy Code to initiate an orderly liquidation of the assets of the Company. In addition, certain of the Company’s other subsidiaries have filed or will file for liquidation under comparable legislation in their countries of origin.”
There’s been many hints that the company was going under after laying off staff back in February 2016. Despite many attempts especially after the Harmonix deal with supplying official controllers for Rock Band 4, the company has failed to bounce back.
Mad Catz is renowned in the FGC community with their quality fight sticks used for competitive play.
