Update: PlayStation Australia has announced that the USB Adaptor for the DualShock 4 will be available in Australia from 16th September 2016. It will costĀ $34.95 AUDĀ RRP.

Original Story:

PlayStation has announced a USB Adaptor for the DualShock 4 which allows you to connect the controller to your PC wirelessly. The adaptor was announced alongside PlayStation Now which is now making the jump to Windows PC. The app will launch in parts of Europe soon with North America coming shortly after.

If you don’t know what PlayStation Now is, it’s a subscription service that allows you to play PlayStation titles like Uncharted and God of War. The PS Now library contains over 400 titles.

Unfortunately PS Now is not available in Australia so we probably won’t see the Windows PC version launch locally. PS Now requires a 5mbps down connection at the minimum and the majority of Australia doesn’t have access to that type of connection.

If you use the DualShock 4 controller to play Windows games or Remote Play however, the adaptor will probably be useful instead of connecting up using a cable. There’s no information whether the adaptor will release here yet but we’ll update you.
