We all know about how buggy the port for the original Dark Souls was on PC – yet we still played it cause it was just too good. Bandai Namco has just revealed the PC version of Dark Souls 2 will be available in Europe and Australia/NZ on April 15th, 2014.

Noted in the press release that the game will be Steam supported (no Games for Windows crap) and will include a bunch of upgrades like increased texture resolution and an enhanced frame rate option. From Software has also been hard at work to adapt the game for a mouse/keyboard combo unlike the previous where a controller was pretty necessary.

“We’re conscious of the high expectations from PC gamers and are working with FROMSOFTWARE in ensuring that the PC version of Dark Souls II offers the best experience possible.” said Mathieu Piau, EMEA Marketing Director at NAMCO BANDAI Games Europe. “After an amazing first opus, DARK SOULS II promises an even more engaging, richer and challenging adventure that should please all gamers, regardless of their platform of choice.”

Dark Souls had a big following on PC despite the issues and it’s great to see the developers focus on the platform to bring out the best. Be sure to check out on preview on Dark Souls 2 here. Watch the new prologue trailer below.
