Starcraft II veteran Sasha “Scarlett” Hostyn has made history at IEM Pyeongchang defeating one of the world’s best players – Korea’s Kim “sOs” Yoo Jin in a thrilling 4-1 victory.
The Canadian Zerg player took the lead taking three games against the two time WCS Global Champion. sOs managed to get a game on the board but Scarlett responded early in the next game crushing his workers and securing the victory winning the championship and a share of the $150,000 USD prize pool.
Scarlett’s win was not only incredible but makes her the first woman to win a premier StarCraft II championship. IEM Pyeongchang was held less than a week before the 2018 Winter Olympics and was endorsed International Olympic Committee (IOC).
