Series 1: Legs Are Silly def. Love Decks
Result: 3-2
Legs Are Silly defied the odds in their final match in the OCE Championship, taking out Love Decks in a very close series. The former started really well, winning their first match 4-1, only to be pegged back in the following two games. At 2-1 down, Legs Are Silly recuperated and came back to claim the following two matches. Love Decks, who would have come into this match expecting (and hoping) to win to keep their playoff hopes alive, must feel extremely disappointed after coughing up a series lead.
Results:
Game 1: 4-1 to Legs Are Silly
Game 2: 2-1 to Love Decks
Game 3: 5-2 to Love Decks
Game 4: 1-0 to Legs Are Silly
Game 5: 3-2 to Legs Are Silly
Series 2: Tainted Minds def. Love Decks
Result: 3-1
With a series loss already under their belts, Love Decks tried to mount a comeback against a Tainted Minds side that knew a win here would do them wonders for their positioning on the League Play ladder. And the latter showed a desire and willingness to get ahead early in their series against Love Decks, and were deserved winners after all was said and done. A late Love Decks fight back in Game 3 just wasn’t enough to ignite any sense of resurgence, with the team finishing last on the League Play ladder.

Game 2: 2-0 to Tainted Minds
Game 3: 4-1 to Love Decks
Game 4: 3-1 to Tainted Minds
Series 3: Legacy Esports def. Tainted Minds
Result: 3-1
A fierce contest ended in a dominant performance from Legacy Esports after all was said and done. Tainted Minds, who’d pulled off a good result in the series prior, looked solid in the opening game, winning 2-1. However, Legacy were just too good in the games thereafter, winning three in a row to keep their hopes of a top two finish alive.
Results:
Game 1: 2-1 to Tainted Minds
Game 2: 2-0 to Legacy Esports
Game 3: 3-2 to Legacy Esports
Game 4: 7-1 to Legacy Esports
Series 4: Dark Sided def. Legacy Esports
Result: 3-1
That top two finish for Legacy looked in jeopardy, however, after they were beaten convincingly by an on-form Dark Sided team. And it all looked to be going well for the former, too, with a cracking 5-1 win in Game 1 to open the series. However, subsequent matches proved to be too much for Legacy, as Dark Sided pulled themselves together and created havoc on the Legacy backboard.

Game 2: 4-1 to Dark Sided
Game 3: 2-1 to Dark Sided
Game 4: 3-0 to Dark Sided
Series 5: Chiefs ESC def. Dark Sided
Result: 3-2
A top two finish for Legacy looked to be well and truly over after Dark Sided won the opening two matches of their contest against Chiefs in the fifth series of the day. And jee whizz, was it a close one! However, with just one match left to win Dark Sided just couldn’t pull off the result, and allowed Chiefs to get back into the contest. And when that happened, Oceania’s best took no prisoners — winning three matches in a row to pull off a cracking reverse sweep, in turn ending the League Play stages undefeated in series played. The result means Legacy do take second spot, while Chiefs remain at the apex of the League Play ladder.
Results:
Game 1: 4-2 to Dark Sided
Game 2: 2-1 to Dark Sided
Game 3: 1-0 to Chiefs ESC
Game 4: 3-1 to Chiefs ESC
Game 5: 3-2 to Chiefs ESC
Series 6: Retirement Home def. JAM Gaming
Result: 3-1
A fight for better placement on the ladder rounded out the day’s proceedings, and Retirement Home — who’d been one of the more inconsistent teams in the League Play stages — pulled out a wonderful result, winning 3-1 against JAM Gaming. All looked to be going well for the latter, too, with a great opening 3-1 win to kick the series off. However, Retirement Home ended up winning the next three games in convincing fashion, in turn taking the series win over JAM. That pushes Retirement Home up to fifth, while JAM move down to sixth.

Final Thoughts
The last five weeks have been a great showcase of competitive Rocket League in the region. The top four sides all have the skills required to represent the region on an international stage, and I’m excited to see how third to sixth go in the Top 6 Playoffs next weekend. That said, Chiefs have unquestionably been the best side of the tournament thus far, and they deserve all the plaudits — they’ve been unreal this split.
You can catch all of the Top 6 Playoffs action on Sunday the 22nd of April via Throwdown Esports’ Twitch channel.
