Various sources have let out a couple of sneaky teases for Naughty Dog’s highly anticipated game Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, which will be making its way to our shores next year.
The first source, a close-up photo of the games protagonist Nathan Drake, was uploaded to Twitter by none other than the games lead designer, Kurt Margenau.
Looking at the image, it’s clear to see just how far Naughty Dog are going with the graphical fidelity of the game. Although it’s to be expected due to the sheer fact that Naughty Dog have always pushed the boundaries of Sony’s consoles, from Uncharted: Drakes Fortune to The Last Of Us, this is what’s to be expected over the PlayStation 4’s lifespan. In the photo, Drake looks grizzly – determined even – and his age is definitely showing. Is this the beginning of the end of the Uncharted series? We’ll have to wait and see.
On the other side of things, Naughty Dog’s upcoming 30th Anniversary book titled The Art of Naughty Dog has a neat set of concept art within it of Uncharted 4 as well. These shots focus on the landscape Drake, Sully and Elena will be traversing throughout their adventure – and boy does it look awesome. You can check out the full set of images right here.
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is slated for a 2015 release exclusively on PlayStation 4. Will it be the last game in the Uncharted series? If history serves us right, it could be. Naughty Dog have always jumped to a new series when it came to a new hardware leap, and with The Last of Us hopefully having a sequel in the works, it looks as if Uncharted will be the one to say adios in 2015. In my opinion it’d be a well deserved farewell, as the series is my favorite of all time. All we can do is wait and see.
