In a massive announcement last night, Athletico revealed their brand new CS:GO roster consisting of familiar names. Mixing a line-up of veteran and youth players, the new roster features two names Counter-Strike fans might be familiar with: Luke “Havoc” Paton and Azad “topguN” Orami. Veterans of the game, both names have been somewhat off the radar in 2017 as both players took a break.
Both players competed in the Vox Eminor roster before Luke “Havoc” Paton moved on to play for the Renegades in the US and Azad “topguN” Orami going into retirement making appearances here and there within the scene. The two veterans return with three young guns: Isaac ‘Prodigy’ Dahlan, Tim ‘Tim1’ Foy-Miller and Jireh ‘J1rah’ Youakim in a new dynamic roster which Athletico has called an ‘outside-the-box’ approach.
In the post released on Athletico’s Facebook, Coach Peter ‘PeetyG’ Souvlis has mentioned:
“Naturally it will take some time for this experimental roster with 3 players under 19 years old to gel, and for returning champions Havoc and TopguN to get some quality game time under their belts. The timing for the roster could not have been better with a number of leagues being in mid season – giving the team the much needed time to practice and prepare before rushing into any major competitions. I’m excited for all the players involved and knowing Luke and Azad – it should be a lot of fun!”
