Developers Giant Sparrow have today unveiled a new trailer and some screenshots for their upcoming title, What Remains of Edith Finch. The game is set to launch in 2016, with the beginning of the game and its first short story to be demoed at E3 2015.
This is the second game to be released by Giant Sparrow, following their first quite successful title The Unfinished Swan. This time the team are hoping to explore the mysteries of family, presenting several short stories exploring members of the Finch family, as explained by Ian Dallas, the game’s Creative Director.
“It’s hard to sum up the game in a screenshot because the game is a collection of short stories. Each of those stories is about the death of a different Finch family member and each is meant to look and feel different from the others, the way no two people in any family are alike.”Giant Sparrow promise the game will be out there but relatable, grounding the more fantastical aspects in a believable way – quite an intriguing objective. You can check out the trailer at the top of the page, as well as more info and screenshots from the title on the game’s website.
