Blizzard has announced that Australia will play host to the APAC regional finals as three Korean teams and two Taiwanese teams will join three Australian and New Zealand teams to compete for a $50,000 USD prize pool finals and progression to BlizzCon.

Blizzard has also made a few changes to the format introducing the same point structure as the North American cups to determine the three teams qualifying for the APAC regional finals.

This is massive news for the World of Warcraft esports scene locally after news that six teams from Australia and New Zealand are attending the Mythic Dungeon Invitational (MDI) APAC group stage this weekend to determine the final two.
